Heretic Opera creates fresh and innovative music theater for today's audiences. Based on life in the modern world, our multi-disciplinary approach blends beautiful music, compelling performances, and original artwork for internet and digital distribution. These "music media vignettes" can be enjoyed at any time - while traveling, over a laptop with a friend, or from the comfort of home.
Our first opera, Valentine, will be released in four episodes, each about twenty minutes long. The first episode will be released in 2013, for online streaming or digital download.
We are committed to fostering a collaborative community for our creative partners. By offering artists the opportunity to develop their own ideas and collaborate on new productions, we are helping to cultivate the new generation of arts entrepreneurs.
This perspective also applies to the question of arts education. Working from the premise that compelling works of art will always have strong appeal, we support educators and emerging artists in crafting new strategies for reaching today’s audiences where they are most likely to be found – right here, online.
