Company History

Heretic Opera began as the brainchild of Artistic Director, Madelaine Coffman.  While developing a foundation in the traditional worlds of opera and theater, she envisioned a way for emerging arts entrepreneurs to utilize their expertise in crafting new, multi-disciplinary works to share fresh stories with today’s audiences.  Two years later - after investing in development, research, and outreach to like-minded arts and business partners -  Heretic Opera was born.  We are currently beginning pre-production on our first original production, Valentine.
